Your Story

Why Share Your Experience?

Sharing lived experience reduces stigma, increases understanding, and strengthens community.

When people speak openly about binge eating and recovery, it creates space for honesty and reflection. Stories help others recognise patterns, feel less isolated, and see that change is possible.

Life in Person values lived experience as practical knowledge.

If you would like to contribute, you can complete the submission form below. You can share your experience as many times as you need to as your journey continues. Your experience matters.

Sandra tells us "My Story Matters"

Submitting my story helped me feel heard in a way I had not experienced before. Writing about my experience with binge eating allowed me to organise my thoughts and recognise patterns I had not fully understood. Knowing that my story could be shared with others who might recognise their own experience made the process feel meaningful.

Before You Submit

Your story does not need to be polished. It can focus on:

  • Early patterns or conditioning

  • Periods of escalation or change

  • Barriers to finding support

  • What helped

  • What did not help

  • What you would want others to understand

Prefer to email your story in the format you have written?

You can send your story, as you do it, and when you are ready, to:

[email protected]

Stories received by email are processed in the same way as form submissions.

You can send it in parts over time. It does not need to be completed all at once.
The email option allows you to share your story, in your own format, as you do it and when you are ready.
